Ember had her broken 4th premolar removed today. She broke it right before the gathering.I was able to flick off the loose bit so it wasn't causing discomfort and planning have planned to have it removed after I got back but the car and AC had other ideas.:no:

Better late than never I guess. I thought I would be able to remove the tooth myself but I chickened out. Something about your own. I had a vet who I used to work with do it. Rachel is her tech so I knew she was in good hands. Turned out to be a bugger of a job. So glad to have someone else have a go.

Ember is doing great, doped up on pain meds, full of canned food and sleeping.

Here is what happened to her. It can happen when dogs chew on hard objects though I have no idea what ember chewed on.

I'm glad to hear she is home and recovering. If I were in your shoes I would not have been able to do the procedure on my pup either. Give her a hug from Hartley and I. Stan also sends his regards and misses his lap warmer. :hugs
 
Glad that Embers troubled tooth is gone! It was a huge bill, but Bobby had two teeth pulled at his last dental.he chews on fences when DS leaves him alone in the yard.
 
Ewwww. Poor Ember! Glad that's over.

Monday, our vet extracted 11 of Rascal's teeth! Now I have had his teeth cleaned every year and just had them done in late Feb of this year. The old vet never said a word about any problems he was having! I took him several times to see the old vet because his gums would get red. The old vet gave me antibiotics for him. The redness would ease but never seemed to go away.

The new vet said his teeth were so bad that he had to take out a lot of them. Even he was surprised at how bad they were once he got into it.

I'm so glad we moved and now have this new vet.
