BUSY boy!

I have a dumb question. What size Kongs are you talking about? We've had one that Callie has never shown any interest in. Admittedly I haven't tried stuffing it with anything, but she doesn't even act like it's her toy. It seems to me like even the small ones are too big and hard for her to be able to squeeze at all to get anything out.

If you put something in it and freeze it, doesn't that only make it harder -- and does the filling melt out and make a mess? I'm confused :confused2::confused2:

I have a medium sized kong for my 25lb Sheltie. She doesn't chew on it or squeeze it, she uses her teeth/tongue to get the contents out. So if you hand her a kong with frozen yogurt in it, she's going to lay on the ground with the kong between her paws and lick it like an ice cream cone. And yes, it can get kinda messy.. I recommend giving it to them in their crate, outside, over a towel, etc. to avoid a mess. I have heard of dogs chomping on kongs (that's why there is the black ones that are even tougher), but my dog doesn't.

Dickens has a small-dog Kong, even though he's a big guy. I can put peanut butter in it, and he'll get every bit of it out with that great big tongue. If I gave him a large one, it would be too easy.

Those treat balls that dispense pieces of kibble are good, too.

Yeah I can't remember if I have a medium or a small one.. I think it's medium, but after I posted I'm kinda doubting myself. I would have to go to a store and compare sizes. Either way, it's a good size for Missy and she gets every bit of yogurt out of the kong!
