Canidae Alternative?? Updated

cute pups- thanks for sharing the pix :smile2:
all this talk of food gets me thinking but mine seem to be doing pretty well on Wellness so I think we'll stay with that for now.

I'm glad I found this thread. We had switched all 3 of our dogs from California Natural to Canidae a while back when CA Natural had changed formula. Now it looks like we'll be switching again.

It certainly is confusing trying to decide. Maybe Eagle Pack or Innova?

Here are the kids by the way:

I love your pointers! Beautiful dogs. And your sheltie is gorgeous as well.:wink2:

Inquiring minds want to know....

How does someone end up with pointers and shelties in the same household. Totally different breed characteristics?

It's the same with labgirl and her quest for a sheltie? Totally different!

I can get some of the smaller breeds (eg. Panda mixing with Shelties because of the breeding mis that culminated in a Sheltie)

What is also surprising is that there are no spaniels cross breeds lurking here. Specificallyl, Cavalier's.....

Probably the same way I have setters and shelties, lol.

The sporting breeds and the shelties actually go very well together.

Probably one their friend had Shelties and they saw what great dogs they are.

That what happened to me. I had JRT beagle mix(the unsheltie) and I got a sheltie because one of my friends bred them. Similar energy levels but less willful.

After I got Justice, another one of my friends who showed Malamutes fell in love with him and got one. That friend now has 1 Malamute and 3 shelties:lol:.

My mom has also falling in love with shelties and is thinking of getting one.

They just grow on people.:smile2:

Well ... we started with the female GSP, Kylie, as a pup. Then when she was around a year and a half, we were certain she needed a companion  hence, Senna, male GSP, was adopted (he was one year old when we adopted him).

All was well until I lost my mind and decided 3 dogs would be so much more fun than two. I've always loved Shelties, and have never had a dog that size, so why not? So we adopted Scout (she was one year old then). She is THE BOSS of the two GSP's! She herds them and tells them what's what :smile2:

It's a fun and very lively household for sure!

Justice's breeder also shows and breeds Rottweilers. People ask her all the time if the Rotts are mean to the shelties. She tells them "nope the shelties are in charge" I don't think people believe her.:biggrin2:
