Canine influenza

I hope Phebe feels better. I'm glad its not the flu.

I have to get Bailey her kennel cough shot. She's at the dog park once a week, so I think she should get it. We weren't able to get it earlier because of her chronic UTI's.

Definitely get a bordatella vaccination for Bailey, but realize that it isn't 100% effective against all the viruses that can cause kennel cough. Phebe has a current bordatella vaccination and still picked up kennel cough.

I wonder if this isn't a good argument for having more than one Sheltie. If she had a brother to play with, I wouldn't have felt like she needed the social activity of the dog park.

There is ALWAYS a reason to get another Sheltie, and they're all good! Trust us on this one...

I don't need to be hypnotized to know there's always a good reason for another Sheltie, but I think Mike probably needs to be heavily medicated to subscribe to that line of thinking. :biggrin2:

Phebe is doing much better -- hardly coughing at all and only a drippy nose. She's still eating well and taking shorter naps. Of course, that means she wants to play more and since she can't contact with other dogs, I'm her main form of amusement. :smile2:
