Cassie HATES being put on a leash

Brodie walks just fine on an adjustable leash, well except for the one he ate through. But pull out the training leash and he hides. Once on it, he walks just fine though.

What is something Cassie just LOVES, like can NOT resist? Will she go after hot dogs? I boiled hot dogs, then sliced and cut each slice into 4 triangles and baked till they were dry. They have kept forever in the fridge. I ONLY give these to Brodie when training and he loves them.

Along with all other suggestions, I would find something she can NOT resist and use it only when she is on leash. If she takes a step, treat. If that's all you get for day one, GREAT! Day two look for two steps.

I am learning these dogs are SMART, but stubborn! Brodie's willful fight is DOWN. He knows it, he can do it, but he won't. My trail trainer told me to give him the command once, show him the treat, and then wait. So maybe put the leash on, say a word that you will use faithfully for walking and then if she takes a step, give the treat?

Good luck!

I had issues with Piper and Finnie. With both I just worked at making it fun, as others have said I'd get them to run around the yard dragging it, chasing me etc. Didn't take more than a week.
