Chewing gum in paw pads

Caro - Mushers Secret paw wax?

I bought it last winter and found it worked, but we had such a long winter.

I smeared Minnie's paws before we went out on tour, it's easy to smear and provide a surface and feet are not greasy.

Use it now when people use salt on their sidewalks.

(Used it a few times when we were cottage in the summer when her feet were quite dry)

Does anyone have experience with Mushers Secret paw wax? I've seen it mentioned here before. I used Shaw's paw wax for winter agility trials, but I found it was only good to prevent slipping, not as protection. I was wondering if Musher's Secret is pretty much the same and would just rub off when walking on asphalt. Tried booties last week but he just lay down and refused to walk in them.

On this morning's walk he would only walk in the shade and after a few minutes wanted to head home. So I'm pretty sure his paws were even more painful after the gum incident.
I love Musher's Secret! Being a service dog, Riley goes in a lot of places that could be hard on his paws without protection. Musher's Secret is semi-permeable and is designed to absorb into the surface of paw pads so that it continues to protect without rubbing off. I find that applying it once a week in the summer is usually sufficient to protect Riley's pads from hot asphalt and sand burn. In the winter I find twice a week is enough to prevent ice balls and salt burn. In the fall and spring I use it every two weeks to keep his pads supple and prevent slipping on slick tile floors.
