Chicken and Rice!

Smudge

Forums Sage
Smudge is out of dog food until Thursday. :uhoh: I order dog food online, and I miscalculated how long it would take it to get here.

So, I bought some skinless, boneless chicken tenders and some white rice. My question: How do you bake chicken tenders? They aren't breaded. It's just Tyson raw chicken. I want to bake it in the oven. I don't plan on breading it or adding anything to it.

It's only for a few meals. I figured chicken and rice couldn't be any worse than Kibbles 'n bits.

Jessisca, I would just boil them and shred or cut them up for him. That way you have all of them cooked up and you can store them. Plus it will take less time to boil them and it won't heat up your house as much.

That's exactly what I do too, Jessica. Just plop them in a pan with some water and boil lightly for about 10 minutes each side. You can also freeze what you don't use for those times Smudge has a tummy problem and you need some chicken and rice!

I would boil them Jess. When they are done just shred it up,or put it in your food processor.

I would cut up the chicken into bite size pieces and throw in the water with the rice. This way the chicken will cook with the rice (as long as it isn't quick rice). Brown rice is the best!

Thank you, everybody. I just cooked (boiled) two servings to save for later. One for breakfast and the other for when I get home from work. I wasn't sure which rice to get so I just stuck with white. Next time I'll know to get brown.
