Choosing between two puppies. Help?

Regardless of the choice later on remember you had two good choices. So on the day you want to strangle his furry little @#$ you are not thinking about the other phantom dog. Both will have times and both will be wonderful. Also at that age a lot will change based on you (for instance the noise could be a fear stage, or not)

This is such great advice. At this age, they are putty in your hands... and while there are qualities to look for, a great deal of the "end result" will depend on your handling, training, and management. You have two very nice little puppies to choose from.

Good luck and in the words of a friend, we love pictures

Thank you so much, you are so right. If I end up getting to keep one I will certainly remember this.

And how rude am I? :o Here are pictures of the two.

Weigh your options, keeping in mind who you already have. Decide which one best fits them and you. Can you take them for a meet and greet?

That's the thing, my big boys have met them, they follow the girl around and are far more interested in her and a bit more defensive around her. With the boy, they tend to ignore him as he is more laid back. I don't know which is better. They are far more curious of the girl most likely because she is more busy, but the boy's personality and reaction to things is SO much like my boys.

We had a huge breakthrough today though, Jet was licking my face and settling down to rest on the couch next to her. When I brought them home first they did not know what to do with them. They couldn't relax, totally focused on the puppies, but this is now the third day and I'm seeing them get more and more comfortable. Another example would be my boy Cosmo, he never pees when he is around an unfamiliar dog, but he was comfortable to do his business outside when the puppies were out with us.

Girl puppy sounds like lots of fun! Send her to me!

She really is! A bundle of love. I think she will be great at agility when she is older, she loves running around and up the hills, she can already jump on the bed. The little boy is bigger than her and can't manage to jump up yet!

I think the girl is just adorable - but then I prefer tri's to sable, but the boy still sounds like he would be the puppy for me. It's really a matter of which suits your lifestyle and what you're looking for in a puppy best. You're not going to go wrong with either.

Little girl sounds like my Cruz, exactly! We were initially looking for a quiet little one, but I wouldn't trade this boy for the world.. he is lots of fun! He keeps us young and on our toes, and will be a great hiking/biking/agility partner in the future.

I don't think you could go wrong with either one though. I'm sure with more time you will know what will fit best with your family. Good luck.. they are both adorable!

Heartbreaking news, we won't be seeing either of them again. We are devastated and hoping they will be looked after.

Ah, I am sorry you didn't get to keep a pup. However, it wet your whistle for a little one and I look forward to your announcement soon that you are getting one. It seems to happen like that for most of us (me included). Philosophically, since you couldn't decide, neither was right. When you meet your little new soul, there will be NO doubt and it will be wonderful.

That means so much to me, we all had a good little cry over here about them, we bonded to them both far more than we realised. The main concern for us is that they are looked after and will continue to be trained and allowed to progress.
