Chubby puppy?

Mine have all loved red bell peppers. I trained our first Sheltie in agility with pieces of red pepper. Mine also like broccoli stems, bananas and apple slices. I can no longer eat an apple in peace.....

Thanks! Any reason it's red peppers vs green/orange/yellow? I know my hubby tolerates all except the green - says they "upset his system".

I would guess because the red/yellow/orange are sweeter peppers than the green, but Bambi loved the green ones, carrots, and I gave her green giant jarred mushrooms, next to no calories, vet approved and she loved them, this was her "salad" a couple of nights a week, along with some small pieces of chicken. I used the chicken in the foil pouches next to the tuna in the store. Bambi really loved her treat because she was getting "people" food, made her feel special. :smile2:

Your vet would know. I'm lousy at too thick, too thin. I look at Flyer and he's a skinny little thing, where Justus is um.... almost portly!

We have been a little concerned about Chip getting too "Beefy" lately. He was neutered at six months and with most animals they will have a weight gain soon after.

A cousin is a vet who just happened to visit yesterday. Asked him what he thought. "A little maybe." Then laughed.

Chip has decided he doesn't particularly like carrots, will eat lettuce, a little apple, loves cooked carrots, will kill for green beans, baked potato, eats about 3/4 to a cup of kibble. Gets a greenie just about every day and a few other treats for being the best pup/teenager in this world.

He is wide in the chest back and rear plus extremely muscular with hair four to five inches long and a good 1/2" to 3/4" thick. OH MY! What a blow out that is going to be. LOL

Thanks everyone - now I have a couple of new veggies to try!

I'll try to get a better shot this weekend. When looking at Baker head-on, he reminds me of a little football player - broad across the front. I don't know that I can do anything to change that.

When we were at the vet 2 weeks ago he said that he would be fine - giving me the impression that I was being too concerned about "puppy fat".

We started the 2 meal schedule, with fresh fruit/veggies at what was lunchtime. Hopefully I'll be happy with how he looks in a month or so.

Yep the green peppers do not agree with me either. Red, yellow or orange are sweeter. Try to get organic if you can, peppers have a high residue of pesticide spray. Green beans are good, too. And this time of year, don't forget pumpkin!
