CJ's Basic Obedience Training...Week 2

My pet and I just had our second Basic Obedience class last night and I'm appalled that he should count my improvement in a weeks time as remarkable. Of course I have a very good "watch me." I would respond better to his utterance of "Front" if I felt more comfortable with him. He only yanked me from my safe and comfy home little more than two weeks ago. Also, if my pet would allow me more time to comprehend the noise that sounds like "Sit" before pushing on my rump, of course I'll improve and actually sit down on command. Sheesh!

Yesterday he took me back to the place that smells like dog and rubber and where the floor is soft and spongy. He uttered that "Sit" noise again. Now that I know what that means I can do that...only in my own time. I don't want him to think he has any kind of mastery over me. When he seemed satisfied, he uttered the "Down" noise. This I've heard before, but not in this context. There's a noise for "get comfortable?" Hey, you wont find me complaining, on my tummy is quite comfortable and I'll take his treats for it too. :D

Then it was back to the "sit" noise again followed by..."Stay?" Yes, that was it; "Stay." Well of course I'll stay here, you've got treats. Well, only for a little while, 'specially if you're not gonna give me a treat right away and make me wait for it. Who does he think he is? Does he think he can compete with all the smells, noises and other interesting things that make up my little microcosm for very long? I think not. Ahh...finally...a treat.

What? He wants to tempt fate again? My fuzzy friends, I think my pet may be daft. Okay...I'll humor him. It seems to make him happy anyway. I like the treats and his praise does make me feel good inside too, so what's the harm in playing along, right?

So progress, progress, progress. With a little more practice I think my pet might actually be a keeper. *winks*

Love your post! Yep repitition repitition, isn't how we humans learned in school? I still feel like a parrot at times, over and over, NO.
