Competition obedience - heelwork

Does anyone have competition obedience videos to share where I can see clearly your footwork? I'm sure I'm mucking stuff up and not giving consistent signals when coming to a halt or turning.

Any tips that might help improve heeling? I've got a fast easily excitable dog who always looks up at me (Juliet) and a slow low drive dog who gets easily distracted, slow to respond to cues and only sometimes looks up (Romeo), so I'm sure anything you have will have either one! or both!!

Book and DVD recommendations also welcomed!

You should probably video tape yourself heeling with your dog, then you can see what you are doing, and your dogs reaction to it.

I started taping myself and learned alot, mostly to heel myself and get the steps perfect, before trying to teach the steps to my dog.

Got any video of you to share?

That is an example of what I'm doing - video short clips then see what i can work on and try to do better. That utility A heeling at the beginning was embarrasing. We got our UD and now that we are about to begin the UDX quest, we're doing better. I'll try to tape a practice this week.

I think we showed to the judge in the beginning of your clip
not last year but the year before- Callie got one of her rally legs :smile2:
