Conditioning a sunburned coat?

:no: My tricolor has been spending WAY too much time outside!

We have been going outside alot lately with the warmer weather, and his glossy black coat is starting to get a little dingy (read:sun-faded).

While I don't want to take away the time we are working cattle, what can I do to restore the beautiful black color he once had? I guess he is going to have to start going inside in the afternoons!
 
Grasping here....

When I was in Mexico last week, I saw people using spray-on sunscreen. I can't help but wonder if that would work on fur?????

You know, I would have NEVER thought of that? I could try a baby sunscreen on a small patch first, to make sure he wasn't allergic or anything?
 
..... there is sunscreen for dogs??
We get too much sun here :cool: but the coats of a friend's tris are still nice and glossy. I'll ask if she uses any particular products. Romeo's coat doesn't have a gloss. :o
