How did it go? Well, not as planned. I thought that since Annabelle tried to take Tara's puppies away from her, that Annabelle would be jolly on the spot to care for Cooper. She can't stand him. She is jealous and wants him to go away.

Clara LOVES him. She has taken on the puppy sitter role. She will play with him until she drops. And it is just too cute.

Tara doesn't care as long as we still play fetch with her.

As for Cooper, I can't say enough about him. First, he's adorable. But that tail still curls over his back. Oh well, there are worse things. He is okay about not going in the house, not great, but at 8 weeks, there will be issues there. He has only pooped in the house once. He even woke us up to let us know to TAKE HIM OUT! He hates, and I mean HATES his kennel. DH caved on Friday night and slept on the futon in the family room with him. He can fuss worse than any animal I've ever heard! I mean, he sounds like a cross between some sort of monkey and a hyena. DH wants to call the breeder and ask if this is really a dog or some sort of zoo animal hybrid. JK- we know he's all puppy. And a GRRRR puppy at that. He grabbed onto DH's pants leg and grrrr'd all the way down the hallway as DH was dragging him along. It won't be as cute when he's 8 months old, but at 8 weeks, it was pretty darn cute.

He had a very busy weekend, as we also took him to two pet stores. At the second one, one of the cashiers was helping a customer to the car, and begged us to stay where we are because she really wanted to snuggle him. We put him on the counter for snuggles and puppy kisses, which he gave freely. And then he saw a box of doggy chewies, so he licked several of them. :gaah And then we got to buy several chewies to take home to the Belles. So I guess that just means he's being considerate and making sure the Belles get treats too?

As you can tell, I don't love him at all. And he's not going to be remotely spoiled.

Annabelle will warm up once she figures out he is staying I bet. Spitfire is not fond of puppies but loves my brothers GS puppy (who is now larger than both my guys put together)

Oooooh, he's so cute! Too funny the different reaction by the girls. I suspect he will become the spoiled and doted on little brother before too long.

So funny, my Brooke is the only one of our Shelties who's ever had a litter, and she does NOT like puppies, thank you very much!

Welcome, Cooper! He is very, very cute! Spoil a puppy? Us??? Nah.... How can you not spoil a Sheltie puppy? They are just the cutest things ever. Even my non-Sheltie friends admit it.

I have the same problem with Sprite and the gang. I thought she and Ruffles would be great playmates. Ruffles runs from her like she's a monster. Which she is....when she can get to Ruffles, she pulls her tail, jumps on her and chews her fur. Uncle Barkley though is the puppy whisperer. Pixie retreats upstairs; Lacey and Checkers who have had puppies look at me in horror and ignore her.

As the days go by, they all start to acclimate to each other, so I'm sure Annabelle will eventually give in to puppy antics and play. In the meantime, enjoy your new little boy! :biggrin2:

Congratulations on your Cooper's homecoming. He is really beautiful

- About 1 month ago, we met a Sheltie male puppy (3 months).- Which I think had the same right strange "screaming" voice :lol:

He is adorable!! Congratulations. He sounds like lots of fun, and I'm sure Annabelle will get used to him in time.
