Crate Guilt!

I well know what you are talking about. So at 8 or 9 months, I moved Bacca's crate into an Xpen.

It gave him just a little bit more space, access to water and some play time.

In reality, though, when you are not with them or interacting with them, they normally just sleep anyway, so the guilt is really just in our heads.

Even now, at 19 months, the boys don't have full access to the house. When noone is home, they are in the family room/kitchen, and gated off from the rest of the house.

Same here...Bentley is 2, but we shut all the doors when we leave. So the dog and the cat play in the kitchen, family room, dining room and hallways, but don't have access to bathrooms (read: toilet paper), or bedrooms (read: books). :smile2:
