Crating One Dog But Not The Other

Crating

I no longer crate Sting as of last week.He is free to roam the house and he has been pretty good tho he did one not rip but shred a role of paper towels and my upstairs looked like it had snowed inside. He has been good ever since

Watch it! I did the same with Sadie when she was a year old and about six weeks later the chewing of furniture began. Even outside. We left her outside one warm day when she was having bowel problems and came home to find her chewing the new cedar stairs that my husband spent all weekend building!:rolleyes2:

So leaving her out of her crate stopped till she was almost 2.

You are correct - you do have to be careful, because they do revert back sometimes.

With my forever pup, we had finally stopped crating him and he was perfectly fine. Until one day, I came home and he had decided that my new living room couch made a delectable treat! There was stuffing everywhere! And yes, he was under 2 at the time.
