Cryptic Blue???

Most people do think that the Kryptic genes only show through DNA tests and breeding, and for some it does.

There is no 'Cryptic' gene. Merle is a variable gene, and this is just another expression of it. If there is a single Merle spot, the dog is a Merle and should be considered as and bred like a Merle.

I agree that a cryptic merle should be registered and considered a merle in every way.

If your mom carried a gene for natural blonde highlights and you only got one tiny little highlight at the nape of your neck, or you didn't even get one at all, does it make it any less true that you also carry gene for natural blonde highlights? Of course not! You got it from your mom and that's that. :wink2:
