My girl never napped on her own, either. I'm sure you've heard several of us say it before, but I had to put my girl into her crate for naps during the day. She was at her most obnoxious when she was tired! Once she figured out she was in there to stay, Zzzzzz!
Unfortunately mine never figured that last part out. "Oh, so I'm in my crate, but you're walking around. I think I should bark and let you know I'm still in here!" But if I sit/lay down somewhere, she's fine. She does the same thing to me a flyball tournaments (but getting better). If I'm sitting in her eyesight, she's fine. But as soon as I get up to do something, she starts barking. She's quite spoiled. I got a new crate and cover back in May that I can pull the flap down on the cover and either zip it shut or just Velcro the little tab.. I have to do that if she's supposed to be "resting". But when it's the end of the day, sometimes she's too tired to make a fuss. What a brat. I swear I did crate games with her and everything!
