Hello everyone,
We are new on here and I have a question for all of you. My Chloe has been showing signs of overexertion when she is sprinting fast, playing chase with the kids, fetch with ball/frisbee. After a while, she seems to get dizzy, wobbly and her back legs tend to not beable to hold her. She looks like she is going to faint. After slowing her down, getting her water she seems to be okay. She shows no symptoms when walking or even running long distances JUST when she is sprinting fast, more anaerobic exercise. I took her in today for some blood work. A little worried, obviously. Has anyone experienced this with there Sheltie?
My new vet recommended blood work and to try to take her off of Wormshield with ivermectin/pyrantel in it and change her medication. Even though it seems she isn't experiencing seizures, just dizziness. I guess some shelties get seizures from this ingredient in some Heartworm Medication. So I guess we will see with this change and blood work soon.
