Last weekend Riley went on a 30 minute car ride and threw up. He had eaten about 4 or 5 hours before the car ride. On the trip home and on a 10 minute trip to the park for a walk he did not throw up but drooled a little bit. Other than this weekend he has been fine on the car and gone on several car rides (some up to 5 hours). My concern with the car/motion sickness is that I am going on a 5 hour car ride with someone else and bringing Riley. I don't want him to throw up in her van. I would crate him but I don't think that there will be room as there will also be a springer spaniel and a yellow lab going with.
I have been reading (here and other places) about how ginger can be helpful for soothing a dog's stomach on car rides. I am thinking about ordering some ginger dog treats.
I am looking at Cloud Star Dynamo Dog Tummy Treats - Ginger & Pumpkin http://www.amazon.com/Cloud-Star-Fu...=1376285153&sr=1-3&keywords=ginger+dog+treats and Grandma Lucy's Ginger Baked Treats http://www.amazon.com/Grandma-Lucys...=1376285153&sr=1-1&keywords=ginger+dog+treats.
Has anyone tried these treats? Or if not, can make suggestions of other treats that may work to help prevent or atleast reduce Riley's motion sickness?
