Dogs Not Feeling Well

You have alot on your plate don't you~We will say a prayer for you & the fur kids.

I do feel having the lump removed would be the best thing,as it will only worry you to pieces.Get it done now, that way all of you can get on the mend and enjoy the summer months.
You'll make the right decision, and know that all of us here are thinking of you.

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it. :smile2:

I am going to get Bailey's lump removed. It was the same size Cali's was last year before it got larger and turned out to be cancerous. I don't want to take any chances with Bailey. I'd rather get it removed while it is still tiny. This way they can probably remove the whole thing and it will not grow back. Because of the size and location of Cali's lump, they weren't able to remove as many cells as they would like, so there is a high chance it will grow back. However, my vet doesn't think it spread to her lymph nodes yet, so hopefully it will be an easy procedure to kill the remaining cancer cells.

I'm just debating when to get Bailey's surgery because she has to go back in 3 weeks for the lyme vaccine booster. I don't know how this vaccine effects the immune system, so I'm not sure if we should do it before she gets it or wait till after. I'll call the vet tomorrow and see what they suggest.

Randi, I'm sorry to hear what you are going through. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your furkids. I pray that Cali will be Ok, and that Bailey's lump will turn out to be nothing serious. I too, would be getting it removed.
Maia and Chinook send sheltie kisses.

We're taking Cali to the Oncologist on Saturday.

Bailey will most likely get her lump removed next Wednesday. I have to bring her to the vet this weekend for pre-blood work. I'm not happy about surgery, but it's better to do it now while she is young and the lump is very small. I guess I'm just nervous because she just got the lyme vaccine and has to get the booster in 3-4 weeks. I'm just worried that it might effect her immune system. The vet said it's nothing to worry about. Am I being to paranoid?

I don't have any advice for your specific question, but in the past couple months I've found that being too paranoid is never a bad thing when it comes to our pets. They can't speak for themselves, so we have to be extra vigilant and extra vocal about their actions/feelings for them.

I wish I knew the answer to your question. I am not sure that anyone really knows the true answer.

Go with your gut.
