Dremel Stylus Replacement?

I decided I was going to buy one and I came to search the boards. Of course, now I find out that they discontinued the Stylus (should have bought it ages ago).

So, anyone have to buy one recently? Which model did you choose? Or has anyone found the Stylus?

I just looked at eBay. One is for sale, but missing the tool kit. Does anyone know if you can purchase that at any hardware store?

It looks like the Stylus has speeds ranging from 5,000 -25,000 rpm. What speed do those of you that have it, usually use?

The cordless ones available now are one of the following:
5k or 13k (2 speeds)
10k or 20k (2 speeds)
5k to 28k (variable)

Of course, the variable one has bad ratings.

Not helping much  - but I doubt I could use it on Minne, so I bought quite a cheap one in a supermarket - "Parkside model PFBS 10.8.A1" for USD 27 + accessories with a cylindrical grinder $ 4 - it works perfectly and now we've been using it for over a year

I bought the dremel pet one from Amazon, but I notice that Furminator has one that sells in the local pet store. Side note: my 3-month-old kitten will let me use it on her.

I bought the Black & Decker one on Amazon. Seems to do the job as well as my previous (and much more expensive) Dremel. Plus, I didn't need all the extra features of the Dremel.

That's unfortunate that the Dremell Stylus is discontinued.

I know my groomer uses just a regular dremmel though and is happy with it.

The tool kit for regular Dremmel and Sylus should be the same. Same rotary unit, just a different shape of unit. So if you go with ebay you should be fine.

btw. The Furminator grinder.......Don't do it! I had many returns to my store where the customer reported that it "crushed" the nails. It could be inexperience perhaps, but I'm going to be cautious here.
