Edan's and CJ's CPE Weekend

This weekend we attended one of the 6 local (within 1 hour of my house) CPE trials. Edan and CJ both did very well! They each managed 9 out of 10 Q's for the weekend with many first and second place runs.

Edan's Weekend
We qualified for the 2013 CPE Nationals! We needed 4 Q's going into this weekend successfully achieved that goal on Saturday. I don't know if I'll go or not - price will be a definite factor as well as the lottery draw to get in - but I'm proud that we are met the requirements in the first year we were eligible for attend.

We also finished CPE Level 4 this weekend. That means we are now working on our C-ATCH (CPE Agility Trial Champion) title.

CJ's Weekend
Glen went into this weekend hoping to finish Level 2, which they successfully did! He can CJ are really starting to gel together as a team. CJ's confidence is also increasing, as evident by her Jackpot runs and her willingness to work away from him with relative ease.

Congratulations on a fantastic weekend! I only had the time to watch Eden's runs (I'll watch the others tomorrow) - he had some very nice runs! Well done :hugs

Congrats on a fine weekend. Both dogs have made allot of improvements over the years.

Goods like of chasing that C-ATCH:smile2:

I'm still trying to get through all of the videos (my nickname at work is already "shelties", so I try to keep my video watching to a minimum!) but you all looked great.

I can tell how much CJ has improved. I watched a run or two and was really impressed by her confidence. The thing that stuck out to me the most was how she came up and over the a-frame--like it was no big deal, even fun!

Where are CPE Nationals?

Oh, and hope you told Becky that you know me :)

CJ loves the dog walk and a-frame so she'll always take those with ease. She has a beautiful natural running contact on both of them. The teeter she's still a bit skittish with but she hesitates maybe 1 out of 10 times now.

Where are CPE Nationals?

Springfield, OH, which is why I'd like to try and attend. I've heard it costs $600 though - BEFORE travel expenses. :( I really don't want to sink the majority of my annual trial fund on 1 trial so I'm hedging on whether or not to submit my name for the lottery draw.

CPE Nationals is also 1 week after my club's June CPE trial so, again, how much do I really want to spend.

Then there's the fact that the Petit Prix for TDAA is at B&D again this year. That $600 would cover that entire weekend (entry, hotel, Saturday event dinner) and then some for BOTH Edan and CJ.

If it really is $600, I probably won't bother.

Oh, and hope you told Becky that you know me :)

 I walked up to her during a break between runs and said, 'I'm not sure if one of my online friends recognizing you in one of my videos is a good thing or bad thing.' She looked at me questioningly and I smiled and gave her your name. She laughed and said 'Definitely a good thing!'

Her comment about Lexi made me laugh. 'She's Lexi and she knows it.'

Becky will be back at B&D to judge Splash 'n Dash's (my club's) CPE trial in August. (This past weekend's trial was under B&D's banner; which is kind of funny considering ALL the people working the key positions were Splash 'n Dash members.)

I watched a couple of your videos. All 4 of you look fantastic.

Congratulations on qualifying for nationals! Well deserved whether you attend or not. And good luck on your C-ATCH! I'm sure you and Eden will have it in no time. :biggrin2:
