Caliber decided to help with the painting!?!!
His tail and all along his sides are all painted!! Mostly his tail!
I don't know what to do! It's water based, so most of it came out after I bathed him then brushed him...but it's still very noticeable!! Has anyone had this problem before?? If so...what did you do?

It hasn't ever happened to me, but I am wondering where are the pictures of the painted sheltie?

Baby shampoo may do a better job at taking care of the paint than regular doggie shampoo, and then I would put conditioner on his hair, brush it through, and rinse again.
 
yip....actually my cats are notorious for rubbing agaist a fresh painted wall! After a while it kinda dries up and I brush it out...however my little girl today decided to make nose art while I was painting:rolleyes2:, and I didnt notice for a few minutes until I looked behind me and noted the art....sigh....had to take paper towel and wipe the inside of her nose out
 
Goo Gone should deal with it without too much hassle. But pup may not like the smell.

As it's water based, you may be able to spritz more water on to soften and brush it out.
 
Update...

Pictures: Well, I did take some, but it really doesn't do the damage justice lol. It's A LOT worse then what shows up on the camera! I'll try and post them anyways lol

I've tried brushing it out, and it's not working....at all.

I do have Goo-Gone, and I've used it on his ears and he doesn't seem to mind the smell all that much. He eats oranges and tangerines, and clementines, so I suppose that's why he doesn't mind it haha! I'll have to try it out on him...hopefully it at least softens it up enough to brush out.

If not.....I'll have to wait for it to just fall out. 'Cause I REALLY don't want to cut it out. I just did SUCH a good groom on him, and he looks amazing....of course other then the paint, and i would feel it's such a waste to ruin my proud job by cutting a chunk outta his tail.(that's where it's REALLY bad!)
 
Ivy rolled in oil based barn red paint one day a few years ago (and she's a tri, not a sable!) I used the GooGone which did help but mostly just kept rewashing her with soap and water. Don't worry, it will come out, it just might take a few days. Keep brushing, and if you use the GooGone be sure to bathe him right afterward so he doesn't lick it.
