I have a 12/1/2 yr. old sheltie. One of his eyes has developed quickly... eye tissue in the corner with a reddish spot. It appears theres a bit of cloudiness on the pupil in the shape of a circle. It seemed to happen overnight. We did go for a forest walk the day before. Could an injury cause this? He does have beginning stage kidney disease treated by kidney diet, teeth brushing and extra water.

His eyes looked good as far as I could tell the day before.
 
When my boy had a blood spot on his eye, the cause was uveitis.

(My regular vet referred me to a vet opthamologist, who made that diagnosis.)
