Hi Everyone,
I'm looking for some ideas for things to add into a specific agility class. The class has four people in it, all experienced competitors (to varying degrees though), and all four have high drive dogs. In my classes, I like to mix up a bit of handling (usually one new "tool" per class), a bit of conditioning (ie. jump grids, restrained speed drills, etc.), a handling challenge for them to work through either on their own or with a partner (ie. a gambler's challenge or a difficult series), and either a course or a section of a course that focuses on the new tool they've been learning. I try to mix hard and easy skills to build the confidence of the handlers and the dogs.
I'm looking for some new ideas to bring into my classes, and I'm wondering - what is your favourite thing to do/work on during class (videos are welcome
). What gives you the most value for your money? Are there certain exercises that you feel you've gotten a lot out of? I'm open to all ideas
.
Tara
P.S. - it's an open field, large space, so I can easily set up pairs or rotations.
