I thought I would post the only video I have from our CD trials. This is day one and our first time in the obedience ring together. I was more nervous than he was I think! So, I am not too proud of my handling, but we got better by the end of the weekend.

He earned a 194.5 for his first leg (this video)
Jinx CD Leg #1

Day two, we had a no sit, but he didn't do bad and earned a 190.5
Day three was his best with a 197.5 (and a kind of funny sit stay but held it!) earning first place (out of a very tough class) and Highest Scoring Herding breed at the show. MCOTC (Mound City Obedience Training Club) always has a well attended show and large classes :) So I was super pleased!

I hope he just qualifies when we try Open this weekend! lol

Nice Job. I love Jinx's heeling. He watches you so well. Diva does a good job in practice but still needs work in show distractions of keeping her head up.

Thank you both! I really love working him :) He is a happy guy and tons of fun.

I have really just jumped in with him lol My last competition dog (a GSD) I trained and proofed and went to matches and show-n-gos forever with.... Jinx hasn't had that luxury so I was even happier that he didn't mind the show situation and did pretty good :smile2:

I used to train each level for a couple of years... LOL I am just jumping in with both feet at the moment... He just got his CD at the end of March, His RN at the Sheltie Specialty at Purina Farms (Took 1st place BTW!) and now I've entered him in Open this weekend! Yikes! lol

He is a ton of fun though and is never happier than when we're training. :biggrin2:

WOW!! That is so awesome!

Lexi and I had our first shot in the obedience ring on Saturday. Lexi is the first dog I have ever trained, so we are in Novice A. She had a meltdown in the ring, so we did not qualify on Saturday. We did fine in the on lead heeling, the figure 8, and the stand for exam. For whatever reason, she got freaked out by the judge during the off lead heeling and barked at him, so we got a NQ. She also stood up during the down stays. I am happy that she kept a good attitude even though I was stressed out big time!!!

Jinx works so well for you, and is heeling is very nice! Good luck in Open!
