First Excellent Q

Great runs! On the JWW run you'd never know you had an abbreviated walk through. You and Bailey are really growing together as a team.

Wow that's very liberal, compared to Here and AAC.

How liberal qualifying with faults is depends on the venue. Some venues, like AKC and CPE allow faults at lower levels. Other venues, like USDAA and NADAC don't allow any faults on runs regardless of level.

Personally, I don't mind venues that allow faults at lower levels, especially in the Novice/Beginner level because it helps encourage the new handler to continue. (Positive reinforcement works on handlers too.)

Thanks everyone! :biggrin2:

I have to agree with you. I was really surprised that a dog could take the wrong obstacle and still qualify. I can understand that at the novice level, but not so much beyond that. I don't think that is allowed once you get to excellent. The order for AKC levels are: novice, open, excellent, masters.

But that is only for standard courses. Jumpers courses do not allow wrong courses or refusals.

You can get a refusal in Open Jumpers just 1(that includes weaves). Plus time faults at 2 point per second. minimum Q score 85.

Excellent, both Jumpers and standard, you can only get time faults- 3points per seconds which means no more than 5 seconds.

Masters- no faults must be clean and under time.

Drop a bar in any level you NQ.
