Flyer update ...

We are now 5 months old, butt ugly in the gawky coyote fashion. Coat is patchy and nose and toes making him look rangier every day. :)

He's still Flyer, aka... Crier, still hates being in the crate at class when I'm working with Uncle Justus. He's out growing his collar and the wire crate so a shopping trip is being planned...

He's 15" and 19 lbs, and the Japanese tape hasn't run out so the ears (at least one of them) is always needing to be "re-done"

One really neat thing that is happening is he's discovered I'm more than a meal/treat dispenser. I have value for a minute or two at a time as an affection dispenser. He comes to me in the mornings for a cuddle ~ oh wait, maybe that is just to get a rise out of Uncle Justus ~ because it certainly does. I have Justus as a 48 lb. lap dog more than I used too...

Justus is starting to slack off on puppy rearing, he now watches from the couch and doesn't get immediately involved when Flyer herds Lily around the room. He's learned about Lily - her teeth are mighty and accurate, if not very big. :D

We are bored to tears in the 2nd go round of Puppy class, but I can't get him moved up as I teach Puppy and Beginners. My options for the next session is to put him in Rally, so that is what we will do. Household manners can wait. :p

It's a dog show weekend, so Flyer will get out and about and probably think all that cheering is directed at him.... :)

I'm sure that Flyer is still a cutie- even if he's in the teenage stage:winkgrin:

Justus as a lapdog- that's quite a lapful:yes: and I thought that Cran and Jocu were too big to be lapdogs.....
they prefer to lay next to me on the couch- Jo will sometimes put his head on my leg- it's very cute.

Flyer sounds like he is doing quite well. Compared to little sister Lacey he is a big boy. She is all of 10.2 lbs as of this morning. the last time she was measured she was 11 3/8 at the middle of October. She is really long right now and also in the coyote stage. She is growing a pretty good coat now, but the girl needs to grow some legs.

:yuckyuck

That is an assessment only a mommy can make, but I have to agree with Hannah, certainly not ugly maybe just a little on the gangly side. At any rate, who ever heard of an ugly Sheltie?
