Food problem -aka Apollo stinks.

I have been feeding my pups Life Abundance which is delivered to your door. Great food, initiated by Dr. Jane Bicks, DVM, excellent customer support and decent pricing. They produce nice cat food as well. Something to look into if you really live far from stores.

watch the video there too, pretty educational.
One thing for sure, it is always fresh and never been on any store shelf. I believe it might be produced somewhere in OH too...

Just some FYI..only because we also used LB,it does contain beet pulp. And I am only mentioning it because that it can (and did) produce lots of gas,and in Trapp so badly that he could not help himself. To the point that while he was on it,we woke up every morning to poop on the floor.
It had the same reaction with Jasper. Earnhardt did ok,but the gas passing from him could clear a room.
It is conveinant, and is produced, shipped right to your door.No bag sits in a warehouse. It is made, shipped, and done with high standards. But the beet pulp, could or may not agree with all dogs.

I got behind and did not see this but.... don't discount the feed stores. We have one in town that is a true old school feed store but they have the best selection of dog food by far (they make Petsmart look like a single brand grocery store). They may be a quirk but I doubt it. The people at feed stores supply people that make a living tending animals and crops, you might be surprised. Just a thought.

We go to a feed store where we can buy in bulk if needed (we have 3 cockatiels) besides our sheltie, Mally. There is a great variety of dog foods there, and way/way cheaper in price! It is not fancy like Petsmart and Petco, but the prices are right. They are happy when we bring Mally into the store. They know him ( a lot of folks don't think to bring their dogs in, but they can)

Another source to check are those uppity organic food stores like Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Sweet Tomato. They tend to have a fairly good selection of decent foods and the prices are aproximately what you'd pay in petsmart.

Everyone has offered you good advice regarding food, so I'm not going to try to add anything.

For the smell, go buy some baby wipes and clean the fur around his back end. That should help a lot. If it doesn't, consider taking him to a groomer or vet to have his anal glands drained.
