I use big names as reference as they often are trend setters, I find it fascinating to see that even agility has some fashion trends, what ¨cool kids¨ did yesterday is not what ¨cool kids¨ do today...due to recallers course participants being all over the map I have enjoyed chatting with many other agility peeps from different countries and have found seeing agility at global perspective is very interesting experience.
Silaria, your Cookie Zen is my Its Your Choice games and my entire dog training is based on it. I start impulse control training as critical core games based on Crate Games. Can´t do without it!
Between my two dogs I have probably taken 6 foundation classes from various sources and with exception of one we loved all of them, there were things to take, things that became way of life and things that were interesting but did not stick.
There is that saying that you train your first dog for 2 months and start competing and you train your second dog for 2 years and then decide if you ready to compete... I think knowledge comes with experience.
If anyone were to make a spread sheet on what one will put in their next puppy foundations I am sure while some things will be pretty universal, majority of the other things will fill different columns in
¨must have, can´t be without¨
¨very interesting always wanted to try¨,
¨kinda cool, will try to keep in mind¨
¨never bothered to learn before, do not see point now¨...
Kudos to Ashley for thinking far ahead and making plans! I am only striving to be so organized...
