Garlic?

From what I always understood it was one of those things where you just can't feed your dog a lot of pure garlic...but I don't know what the amount/cutoff is.
 
That's my understanding too, they would have to eat a fairly large amount of garlic for it to be a problem.
 
dog needs to eat about 3 heads/ not cloves/ of garlic a day for about a month to see significant damage. Since people are usually not that much idiots, garlic has been found very beneficial for the health of humans and dogs.
 
Thanks for clearing that up. I fixed Chance a bland diet the other day and on a whim flavored it with a little Garlic. Upon seeing that I was like "AAAHH!"
 
I occasionally sprinkle garlic powder on my dogs food if I think it needs flavor (like if there's medication in it.) I've never had a problem. :smile2:

I've also used garlic in home made dog treats with no issues.
 
What I did hear about sprinkling garlic on food is a plus. True or a myth I don't really know, suppose to help keep the fleas off of dogs. We haven't had trouble with fleas, thank goodness.
