saw a bunch of them in his morning poop. Things make sense now.
Like how I can't get him to gain weight on 2 cups of food a day (wellness core) or why he was sitting randomly (not scooting, but sitting on his but) this past week.

I didn't see any yesterday (I'm in an apt so poop is always picked up) and nothing around his poop-hole so I hope we caught it early. He had them once before, years ago.

So we will be off to the vet this weekend to get the pills. I don't live terribly close to my vet, and to try and get there in the evenings during the week requires fighting rush hour traffic (not fun, a 20 minutes trip could take over and hour!) doesn't make sense for a non-emergency situation.

I feel like such a bad mommy :(

You shouldn't feel like a bad mom, as most dogs get tape worms. Usually meams they have fleas, though. I think that worker medicine is so hard n them. If you would rather go an easier on hm/affective route two weeks on ground pumpkin seeds, 2tbs a day, will eliminate them. You cld take a sample in to be sure and avoid that medicine. Pumpkin seeds and also diatamacious earth and u could use the DE for fleas, too! Don't feel bad though as it really isn't a big deal.

Gavin is on Sentinel, so he doesn't have fleas.
I'm thinking he picked it up (either a flea or two or by eating infected dog poop) when I had him boarded in April when I was in New Zealand for 3 1/2 weeks. I don't know the if that timeline works (time from infection to seeing worms on the stool) but that was his time of greatest exposure to fleas and or worms.

That is probably where he picked them up!

Good thing it is an easy fix once you get him the meds.

Been there, done that with my Hawaii girls. They have no ticks, but fleas are a constant problem, apparently.

The meds will knock them out quick.
