Gonna trial....in Eugene, OR!!!

Good luck and have a safe trip, Cheryl.

If you can keep your head in having fun you should have a blast at the trial. Be sure to talk to other there and find out what other trials go on in the area.

Actually, I looked at every venue except TDAA and UKI. They run everything there, USDAA, NADAC, ASCA, CPE. But they didn't have any trials there while I'm there, except for AKC. So AKC it is. Trust me, I was hoping to run USDAA, NADAC, or CPE since he's in lower levels which means the possibility of me screwing up isn't as bad. It also seems like most trials are in southern OR. I'm bummed since obviously, if I move, I'll be in the northern part. I don't want to have to drive 2-4 hours for a trial. Yikes!

Well, talk about differences. I just got the running order for the 4-day Eugene trial. I figured for sure it'll be very big and busy. I know in SoCal, when trials are that long, they're huge. I guess wrong. There's only 30 dogs in 16". And about the same number for the bigger dogs (can't recall the jump heights). I'm number 13. Um, yeah, in big trials, I can be in the 70's. But usually am in the 40's and that's towards the end of the pack, but there are still maybe 60 dogs. I guess me "sleeping in" isn't going to happen. LOL. I figured with T2B and FAST running before STD/JWW I could go in later. Yeah, not going to happen cuz that'll go fast.

I'm surprised. Maybe that's low for them too, but really, 30 16" dogs? That's it? But it IS filled with Shelties!!!

Long story very short. I didn't do the agility. If this is what traveling with kids is like, I refuse to have kids (Oh wait, I don't want them anyways). To unpack, one night, I had 11 bags of "necessities". And had to pack up my car the next day. I gave up and was tired of living in a hotel room, the boys were tired of it, Koji hated going back inside. So, I said screw it. Blew off the trial (let the TS know so they could scratch me) and drove 14 hours to get home.

I am bummed, but honestly, I know Koji doesn't care. I've been told twice he doesn't want to do agility. So, I believe it. We're going to get instinct tested for herding on the 8th. :) See how he likes that.

I should have trialed, because it was going to be small and fast, but I was just too fed up with all the hotels/moves. Bleah. Bad choice of things to do, that's for sure.

I guess this means I'll be slowly off this board. :( I'll check in every so often, but obviously, won't have much to add anymore since I won't be training.
