Wow! That is a steal. Enjoy, learn, and have fun!

If anyone is interested in jumping grids to teach their dogs collection I can post on what was taught yesterday. We also did RTH work.

The grids would be much appreciated for the green baby dog who gos 'what collection?!'

That'd be Koji too. I'd like to see it (something a green dog should've learned LONG ago).

However, the other weekend, I did see a dog, Sheltie actually, do some sort of collection prior to each obstacle. It's almost like the dog had to take a few extra steps. You could see the dog slow down, take a couple of extra steps, then jump (or whatevers). Interesting. I know that's not the type of collection you want, but it was interesting.

Sharon, you are so lucky to have Erin there. Need a roommate? LOL.

I would love to see more on the grid work.

Cheryl, if I'm understanding your description of that Sheltie's jumping, it sounds to me like the stutter stepping that goes with Early Takeoff Syndrome (ETS). Not at all desirable, and very concerning since ETS is thought to be a result of depth perception problems that only get worse with time and can be quite dangerous for the dog because it will start not just dropping bars but even totally crashing into bars.

You need five jumps seperated by 4 feet.Jumps ascending 8" 8" 8" 12" 12".You put the dog close to the first jump and go to the last jump. The only time you are talking is when you release the dog.Tell the dog to go or what ever your release word is and you click and treat at the last 12 inch jump.If the dog knocks a bar or ticks a bar no reward. The dog shoulld be doing what she called bouncing. Do this for a few days and then the jumps go to 8" 8" 12"12" 16" an do the same thing for a few days. You are going to eventually incorporate movement. She had me by the third 12 inch jump and the minute I released Sting I was moving.Eventually you remove the second jump and keep doing it for a few days (this is with movement) and then replace second and remove the third jump and keep doing it.You should be ahead of your dog or running with dog.

Oh no no no. Clean Run is bad bad bad....for the wallet that is. LOL. Thanks for the offer. But when I leave, I may be taking a blue instead.

Ahhh...we did that in the beginning, I didn't realize that was for collection too. Koji couldn't bounce because he was going so slow. lol. I think he could now. Question, is removing a jump so that they're not just bouncing and have to collect before the next jump? I don't think we ever did that.
