Hello! I totally understand how you feel. I lost an Aussie in 2008, then my soulmate beloved Aussie in March 2011, then my other Aussie in Dec. 2011. They all lived full lives until the big C got them. During the same time my Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and we lost him in 2012.
Six weeks after the loss of my boy in March the silence was just too deafening and the pup came along (my GSD x McNab). He moved right into the soul-mate place and made us laugh again. He was there to cuddle and cry with while my Dad was losing ground. Recently I added the sheltie and she is just fun, cute, and a little girl to pamper (without letting her turn into a tyrant, that is).
May your search lead you to the right baby quickly so your heart may again be full. Post pix of the new little one and we will all rejoice with you!
