Hello All,
My name is Steve and my new Sheltie's (short) name is "Mika (MEE kuh)." She was born on June 10 and will be ten weeks old this coming Friday.
She had a BIG day Saturday and met lots of people. She also met a neighbors dog and had a play date with my brother and his wife's dog. She isn't shy with people or other dogs, but she startles easily by sounds! Almost any unexpected sound makes her flinch. She also seems to be a little shy about going through doorways.
She is very calm and laid back. She loves sleeping in her crate, and hasn't made a peep during her first two nights. (Except a few little whimpers when she sees I'm awake in the morning, to remind me she has to potty!) She has only had one accident so far, and that was my fault cause I waited a little too long to take her out.
Last night she did her first sheltie spin when she got a little excited... which also sort of included a somersault maneuver. Now she has discovered her tail and will randomly burst into a spin to chase it. Last night while we were watching TV she also started with the Sheltie talk. We were watching a recent episode of Falling Skies, and she offered her commentary.
Anyway, just wanted to stop in and say hello!
