I'm so sorry you lost your oldest Sheltie.
I had one of my cats on the Hills metabolic, was that the one you used? It got weight off her quite quickly, although she acted like she was starving. Both my cats really liked the flavour too, and cats are hard to please.
Interesting about the lesion. I'm sure now my Deska's tail lesions occur from cuts he gets when he booty scoots. I've just got to work out what's causing the booty scoot (it isn't his glands).
