Do you know which season/episode that is? I'm trying to find it on Netflix but they are only listed by the dog's name.

Do you know which season/episode that is? I'm trying to find it on Netflix but they are only listed by the dog's name.
I've seen at least 2 episodes with a barking shelties. They are season 1, episode 3 (Rana) and season 2, episode 9 (Jake and Nugget).

This doesn't work too well with basketball!!
Sandstorm also runs with the teams, so if they are running left, so is he, right, there he goes!! Barking the whole time- maybe I should bring him to a Celtics game, at least he would keep up- but he would herd everyone to where HE wants them to be, lol.

I saw two episodes of Ceasars- one with the shelties and a toaster and hairdryer, and one concerning a herding dog similar to shelties (forgot what kind) barking and lunging at cars on walks. The one that showed how to put the dog in a sit-stay on walks really works for Sandstorm, but I don't think I could get Sandstorm to stop barking at the T.V., hairdryer, etc. no matter what Ceasar says!! Let him come to my house and try it. I love alot of what he does, but he does not show any unsuccessful methods he has tried. Why should he though, it is T.V.
I think that our dogs just bark alot at certain things, and it would be very very difficult to stop it. It would have to be a full time job, and I have to go to work!

My sheltie who just passed away was just the same way. Some days I thought I would go insane but now I just miss it terribly! The only thing that he reacted to was if I carried a newspaper or magazine rolled up and smacked it against my hand or thigh. I don't know why but this quieted him down. Also spraying mint breath spray in his mouth when he barked. It was hard to do but he did not like the taste. Good luck! I bet when you are not around they don't bark at all . He is probably just protecting you - that is what mine did.

My two stayed with a friend for a couple of days this week Deska was as quiet as a mouse. He was quite happy staying with my friend and basically treated her just like he treated me, but without the barking. It was interesting because now I wonder what it is about me that makes him bark.
I'm am going to try a new strategy tomorrow - work on Tully's barking. She has gotten a bit barky in the backyard since Deska has stopped going outside to bark (I put an ultrasonic bark house out there which he hates). His worst barking is when she barks - kind of a one-up-manship thing so I am hoping he will get a bit jealous if he sees me praising and treating Tully for being quiet and will try to be quieter.
Btw - I have a friend doing a behaviourist course and she sent me her thoughts about dealing with Deska's barking. She said "there can be no rewards after punishment because it just confuses the dog and acts as a reinforcer. I bark, she yells, then she loves me." Eg, if he gets time out for barking and settles down I dont then praise him for being quiet.
And while telling him to be quiet when he is barking is not a punishment, just a command, but if he keeps barking or starts up again then any reward will reinforce the ignoring the command. I am going to mull over it for a while and see if it leads to a different strategy.
