Hanna meets dad

How cute! Dad seems to be as much in love at Hanna, they will be a great team. Love the pics, thanks for sharing. This is going to be a long road with love, companionship and loyalty, congratulations on your new heart dog.

I hadn't heard that expression "heart dog" before reading this forum, but that is what she is going to be. He's very taken with Hanna.

Well, you never really know if a dog will be a heart dog. I LOVE Ida and would do anything I could for her. She's my baby girl. But the truth is, she's not my heart dog. The term "heart dog", to me, means such an unmemorable, unbreakable bond with your dog it's indescribable. Sometimes it takes years for it to become like that. F-kap is my heart dog, he has save my life many time in the past (I seem to have all the bad luck with running into aggressive wild animals, but good luck that I've had him) and he's risked his life in doing so. I wouldn't hesitate to do the same for him. Jody has a very strong potential of becoming my heart dog some day. But right now, he's a very good dog and we love each other very much. You can never predict when you'll have a heart dog, just love every one of you dogs and they'll love you (not hard with shelties:wink2:).

OK, now I'm crying, don't know why but I am. F-kap is dozing right now, cuddle time...

In the 6 dogs I've owned over the years, I can say that I've had one of those - my sheltie Blue was the one. Sort of odd how that happened as I didn't really pick him. We had gotten our very first registered sheltie - a beautiful blue merle girl we called Dallas. We sometimes visited the breeder and when Dallas was 6 months old, I got a call asking if I would consider taking a pup she had been planning on showing but who turned out a little too short. We hadn't really planned on 2 dogs, but I agreed to a one week trial. My first priority was the dog we already had. Having 2 dogs turned out to be easier than just the one - they got along so well together, so we opted to keep him. Hubby and the kids always preferred our original sheltie, she lived to play, but, guilty as I felt about it at the time, I fell in love with my sensitive Blue and his soulful eyes, and he became my dog. I was positively heartbroken when he died at the age of only 8. That was about 20 years ago and I still ocassionally think of him.

I don't know yet if Hanna and I will have that same relationship, I think she may end up being a daddy's girl. The pom I had that just died this past summer had that potential. Even though he had a completely different personality - very confident and outgoing, there was definitely something extra special about my little Dawson that made you smile just being around him.

Oops, my ipad keeps changing what I say.:rolleyes2: I had originally put unforgettable, not unmemorable. This dumb thing is embarrassing me. Gotta LOVE technology, hu?!
