Hi Folks!

Tex is our 7 month old Sable. We made a road trip all the way up to Oklahoma to pick him up driving a total of 18 hours to do so roundtrip. He has been worth every minute of that trip!

Here's a recent pic of him:

I've always loved Shelties growing up. We lost our beloved flat-coated retriever about a year ago to cancer. In the Fall we began our search for a new family companion. The search lead me to Rough Collies. On visit to a breeder nearby, my wife and kids were also introduced to the breeder's Shelties and they instantly fell in love with the breed! The rest is history!

Tex loves to play fetch with tennis balls and frisbees. He also likes to herd giant kickballs in the backyard! He's been a joy to work with in obedience. We've also have started some senior pet therapy work and have begun some agility training as well.

Welcome Tango and Tex !!

What a handsome furkid you have there. Shelties are wonderful, they are smart, loving and just plain old cute! Glad to have you on board with us here on the forums. Hope you enjoy them and welcome to the club of being owned by a Sheltie!!

Tex is beautiful, he looks alot like my girl Sadie. They look like they could be brother and sister.

....

Oh, Sadie is gorgeous!!! Shelties are just beautiful dogs in more ways than just one! It's great to be a part of a virtual community that loves Shelties!

Welcome! You have a very beautiful dog! I think Tex and Sadie could pass as brother and sister! That's really neat that they look so much alike!

I know what everyone means when they say they don't think they will ever own another dog after getting a Sheltie. We won't ever get another breed of dog and I was a Golden Retriever lover!!

Its especially funny that they look so much alike when you consider that Sadie doesn't look anything like her mother, father or littermates! Her mom was honey coloured sable, her father was a tri colour and her sisters were bi and tri colours!
