Don't let all the bazillion awesome gorgeous Sheltie pics fool ya, hahaha. They ARE a handful and really need committed owners :lol: Oh, and handlers need sense of humour and lotsa love to give... So in other words you're at the right place to find out more about them and if a Sheltie is your best choice :biggrin2:
 
Thanks guys. Yeah I know exactly what you mean. I absolutely love dogs! And shelties are just number one on my list, followed closely by australian shepherds, collies and dobermans.

I really want to be prepared for my dog when I eventually can afford to get one. So I'm going to just read through different threads on here and see what I can pick up from them, and learn.

Sorry I haven't responded in a while, my life is pretty hectic at the moment, so I haven't really had the time to reply to anything much on my computer.
 
Hi Saz welcome to the forum. You certainly came to the right place to learn the ups and downs of owning a Sheltie. I currently own my third Sheltie Gypsy a Blue Merle who is 4 yrs as of March 11th.
 
Can't think of a better place to be than on sheltie forums! So sit back,and rea,read about them. As Toffee's Mom said.. they are beautiful but can be a handful.

We are a multi dog home. Four all together.
We have 3 shelties. Two of them are half brothers,and came from NC.Our breeder is known here as "Granite". So Trapp is our oldest at almost 2 (July) months,and Jasper is almost 18 months.

Last Sept,we rescued a double merle.Her name is Mia.She is deaf & blind.And she celebrates her birthday tomorrow. A yr. old!

Then our lab Earnhardt is the big guy! We also have a blind himalayen kitty,her name is Bumper!
