Hello! Glad you crept in -- you're so welcome here. Two things:
Stairs: give him time. He'll figure them out, but right now, the new home is overwhelming.

Aww what a cute little pup!! We love the pics so keep them coming.
He'll get used to the stairs, so don't worry. And no barking.......just wait until he feels at home. He will find his voice. Haven't met a sheltie yet who doesn't bark. Some are more controllable than others, though. I have three versions; 1. Non-stop; 2. Glad to join in more often than not; 3. Looks at the other two like they have two heads. But she's new to the house and may find her own voice after a while as well.
