"Holding" a puppy from the breeder?

First of all, WOW. Those puppies are all so strikingly marked with lots of white - I love the big brown "eyebrows" on the tri in the threesome photo, but all of them are really, really cute.

The last three Shelties I've gotten from breeders were older. Ally was 1.5 years, Brooke was 7, and Faith had just turned 2. All had no trouble bonding after a short initial period of shyness. We were fortunate that the breeders spent time with them; they weren't just warehoused in kennels, so I agree with everyone else on that point, as long as the breeder will make an effort to keep that pup socialized and exposed to new things you should be fine. I can't wait to hear what happens. Good luck.
