good stuff
There is so much outta our control isn't there? I have extremel attitude with those not able to control their pets. Especially when it involves MY pet
. It brings out the not so pleasant side of me. I know we can't control what occurs most of the time, but we can control our reaction to it. I am a mama bear when it comes to people who are overdogged and do NOT use a leash in posted public places and their dogs are just outta control. And I have voiced my "displeasure" in their idea they are above rules. But c'mon now.
I really liked the 10 to 1 experience suggestion. When I walk my girls I am constantly assessing the behavior of those we come up against and I try my very best to give lots of space to the ones that have no obvious control over their pets. Savannah is vocal, and she sizes up the competition immediately, and I can tell by her bark tone whether I need to choose better options. I try very hard to be a dog listener with my girls. I think if you react and handle your dog with love, sheltie's understand this. Their intuitive nature picks up on your attitudes and behavior. Reinforce the good, minimize the bad...
