How to get pee out of sheepskins?

Hi,

My dogs have real sheepskin rugs that I am needing to figure out how to get pee out of, there has been some on the fur part and on the hide part too.
Would I be able to spot treat it with something or bathe it like it was still on the animal?
LOL Between all the treats and toys and other things they get..they do sound spoiled with their own sheep rug!

I keep the sheep rugs in the crates unless the dogs drag them out.
When I first got the sheepskins Gertie would try to pluck out the fur and chewed on the back of the hide for a little while but she hasn't done it for quite some time . I think cause it was a new thing brought in to the house. I do play a little tug o war with it every now and then. So far Kodi doesn't seem to think that it is any more than a soft bed and a tug toy when pulled out of the crates as they were here before I got him.

So...no they haven't really tried to make a meal out of them,but I guess it does depend on the dog too....mine prefer treats to sheep!

I an happy to report that I am the queen of getting pee out of sheepskins. :biggrin2: Our puppy peed and pooped all over a lovely 9X12 flokati (long haired sheepskin rug). Here's the fix:
1. Wet the rug thoroughly. In our case, we laid the rug over a car and hosed it down.
2. Work Woolite into the rug. Work up a nice lather.'3. Rinse with hose, making sure the stained area is clean.
4. Allow to dry.

Our rug is perfect -- no stain at all. This method works with big rugs and small skins.
