How would you handle this?

Flip

Hi Cheryl,
I couldn't see the end of the DW very well. Was the tunnel entrance in line with the DW, or was the entrance just front of it just a bit? Either way, I'd use some version of a flip or switch or turn (depending on what you call it). Alva has a tough time with those (as evidenced by today's CPE runs with tight 180s) so I need to work on them, too, but we work on contact-tunnel flips quite a bit in my classes, so he's familiar with the move. I had a hard time devising a way of teaching him "wrap" since he can't see that signal in that direction, so I just ended up using body movement and a switch command and that seems to work, but not efficiently. We'll keep figuring out a way to do it, and practice more. Good luck working out something that will work for Koji.

Hi Dayle,

The tunnel was in-line with the bottom of the DW. It's just funny that I haven't seen this in any runs I've ever had up until that day. Time to learn some sort of flip/switch. I think when I start working with him on distance, he'll learn pressure too so that'll help with teaching a switch.
