I was trimming Shelby’s feet today and I noticed what looks like thick hair on a few of her pads. I did some research and I think she has hyper keratosis. They don’t bother her at all and she doesn’t mind me touching them.
I do plan on mentioning it to her vet at her next appointment coming up. But I’m fairly confident there isn’t much to do other than creams.
Any suggestions for a cream that is not greasy and would not leave any marks on the floors or furniture? Or anyone else experience this and what did you do?
She also has some small callouses on her elbows which I originally would call her “old lady” elbows. Thinking it was from laying on the hardwood floors. Growing up I had a black lab that had callous3 when she got older. But now I’m thinking this is the same.
