I found the perfect collar!! I got it at "leatherleashstore", the 17 inch one, and it is perfect. Non-adjustable though, but it FITS!!! Sandstorm is 18 1/2 inches, 30 pounds. I got a thin rolled leather one, with a fine stainless steel chain.

That's fantastic, I have been eagerly waiting to hear how it would work! Will this be a collar you leave on all the time or just when you are going out or training? I would like mine to have a collar on all the time for their id tags but Brie backs out of everything but the nylon slip collar I use to walk her. It would be nice to only have the one collar.
We need to see a picture of Sandstorm modelling his new collar!!

I agree!!!! I would love to find a collar that I could keep their ID tags on. I always worry about them escaping from the back yard with no identification. (They are micro-chipped) but, I would feel safer knowing they were wearing their name tags 24-7

Well, you can't see the collar when he is wearing it. This will be his collar with the tags on it, we take it off at night. It is so easy to just clip the leash on this instead of having to adjust a martingale all the time!!

They do have a soft bullhide adjustable leather martingale on their site as well...but I don't know how comfy it will be, anything adjustable has more "stuff" to be felt on the neck. I'm liking their prices, though! I paid $35 for my rolled leather martingale that I found at a local feed/grain store. Is the collar you got the one that's $18.95 and black? I might get one for my Little Bear as they don't carry ones in his size at the store.

I got the brown one at the leatherleashstore, if you go there you will see they have all sizes.

I'll be checking it out. Bacca's martingale is too loose for my comfort.

And please, folks, keep collars on your dogs with tags! After my near miss with Indy this week (he went AWHOL for almost 2 hours), I'm sworn to get tags bag on both my dogs. You never know when and how the pups will escape on you.

The beauty of the martingale is that you CAN leave the collars on 24 x 7 because they don't mat the fur down. If the collar gets caught, they can still slip it loose if necessary. That's the whole point!
