I had to put my plumber hat on this morning!

A tip for all of those who recently had plumbing issues and for those that will lol.
My kitchen sink wasn’t draining properly this morning..I remembered reading that you can unscrew the drain.
Voila…and what a disgusting smell I uncovered!
Gave me better access to get the hair catcher in also (wider holes).
I should’ve taken a photo of the hair I pulled out!
Disgusting!
Was super easy to unscrew and put back afterwards!
Happy cleaning!
Definitely a better way to get at the dog hair…does anyone else with multiple dogs have this problem?

My kitchen sink does not have a screw in catch, they pop out on a clip. And while there is hair from the guys I once was blessed with Angus the Hair Monster. Vacuum ran from him not the other way around. He clogged everything as I swear he was 99% hair. Miss him as he was my lover lap dog supreme.

Glad you had an easy fix!

Yes to clogs! Not sure it is from the dogs but a few weeks back, we replaced the pump in our dishwasher as it wasn't draining well. Put it all back together and found a massive clog in the drain line (always check the drain line first, THEN replace the pump!). The new pump is working fabulously - so very quiet! But wow, the amount of MY hair in the kitchen sink drain and dishwasher drain was shocking! Might have been dog hair in the midst too.

I do regularly clear all sink drains. I swear I never saw my mother doing it but since moving out many, many years ago, it's become a regular in my cleaning schedule. I keep these things in each bathroom. Easy to use, cheap to replace.... https://www.amazon.com/Drain-Remove...=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9zZWFyY2hfdGhlbWF0aWM&th=1

I use those drain catchers as well Sandy…they do a great job of getting the hair out!
I’m glad in a sense that it’s not just me with dog hair in the kitchen sink 😂…and yes, it has to be dog hair…I never wash my hair there!
I’m just so careful about using a cover on my drain to catch the hair and yet I still had a disgusting mass of hair form.

Been there done that. We use these things now- take out the strainer and dig down with a twisting motion and pull back out and get your disgust on... works well tho.
