I.p.v.d

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts and prayers. Means a whole lot. Meadow is doing okay today. She slept all night and today is eating, drinking, peeing and pooping.:biggrin2: Also her gait seems to be back to normal. Did a quick training session with her this a.m. and she did all I asked of her so I was encouraged by that. Not quite back to normal yet but her progress is very encouraging. I will make her an appointment with our own vet for Friday and see what she thinks. Will give an update after that. Thanks again everyone.:hugs

I.v.p.d.

I know how terrifying IVPD can be especially when you are totally taken off guard. Our Sheltie has had mini seizures for years - just something she's lived with. When she had her IVPD (at age 13) we went directly to the emergency vet. Like you we were terrified. The vet told us the first 24 hours are the worse and boy was she correct. Our Lacey was an older dog so recovery took about 2 weeks and today she is fine. Her gait is a tad bit off, but that's what makes her unique. Changes are it won't happen again, but now you know. Just keep giving Meadow hugs & kisses.

So sorry about your pup I would first, second and third opinions before you commit to anything.

Truly....don't let them talk you into anything. Unless its critical, and then you have an immediate decision to make.

Speaking from own experience only.
